This image shows a nurse from the Philippines graduating in 1922. Her white dress is an elegant, almost bridal design and a far cry from today's designs. The Filipino Nurses Association was founded in 1922. The FNA was admitted as a member of the International Council of Nurses (ICN) in 1929. The FNA was renamed Philippine Nurses Association (PNA) in 1962, and it continues to uphold its vision to uplift the ideals and spirit of the nursing profession in the country and to win the respect and recognition of the international community.
