welcome to PRN

// PRN Magazine is a Practical Resource for Nurses, designed with everyone in mind //

Founded by Anna Magnowska, a nurse and illustrator,  PRN makes connections between art, medicine, culture, science, technology and history whilst also focusing on the practical elements of nursing.

PRN is a platform for opinion pieces, interviews, features and discussion, alongside exploring wellbeing, lifestyle, food & drink. Infused with writing, illustration and photography from some of the most exciting and creative people around, PRN is unique in both it's mission and aesthetic.

Alongside guest blogs and articles from the world of healthcare, the launch issue of PRN features articles from Observer writer Euan Ferguson,  The New Statesman's Benedict Cooper and the Guardian & Independent's TV critic Sarah Hughes. There are exclusive interviews with Jed Mercurio - creator of the brilliant new Sky 1 medical drama Critical, Dr Kevin Fong from Channel 4's Extreme A&E, NHS commentator Roy Lilley, medical historian Richard Barnett and film maker Peter Bach as well as a beautiful photo shoot from fashion photographer Julia Kennedy, recipes from chef Rosie Sykes and illustrations by Rosie Irvine.  Art direction is by illustrator Laura Quick, and logo design is courtesy of Steve Wilson

PRN is a collaborative magazine and we invite the thoughts and ideas of nurses and non-nurses alike. It is currently free to access and will remain free for the foreseeable future.

By launching PRN, we aim to create something beautiful that explores what it is be human, and what it is to be a nurse in the 21st century.
